"We know that when people feel more connected, we create healthier communities," said Daniel Gumnit, executive director at Intermedia Arts. "Our goal is to facilitate understanding among people using both personal interactions and digital technology." Intermedia Arts will foster exchanges between immigrants and the broader community through the use of digital media. The project brings to life the struggles, discoveries and experiences affecting the lives of Minnesota's immigrants. It weaves technology into programs to enhance their community-building components. "With its commitment to using art as a way to break down cultural barriers between communities and its reputation as a trusted gathering place, Intermedia Arts encapsulates what Healthy Together is all about," said Jocelyn Ancheta, Program Officer, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation.
