He will assist in bidding and selecting a quality contractor, and will see the project through the process of construction. Fees will be determined and fixed prior to starting the design. They are based on the size and complexity of the building. Architectural fees and expenses will add from 3% to 5% to hard construction costs of your new home, depending upon size and complexity. Designs were built in the 1987 and 1988 "Street of Dreams" home shows with a Santa Fe style home chosen "Best of Show" in 1987 at Lone Tree. His work has been featured in Colorado Homes and Lifestyles Magazine. Two of his homes have been filmed for HGTV's "Dream Builders" television program. David Elfring began his career designing passive solar homes. He received awards in cycles 4 and 5 of the HUD Passive Solar Design Competitions. One solar home was featured on PBS's "A HOUSE FOR ALL SEASONS" TV program. Mr. Elfring graduated from the Syracuse University School of Architecture in 1975 and included one year at the Architectural Association in London, England as part of his studies.
